Frequently Asked Questions 

1. Should I get a pre purchase Inspection? A pre purchase inspection is generally a good idea and often well worth the investment for a large investment such as a new/used vehicle. Many vehicles that under go thorough pre purchase inspections pick up problems or concerns not found or noted in a safety certifications and can prevent new owners from purchasing a “lemon”.

2. How does a pre purchase Inspection work? A buyer will generally inspect and test drive the vehicle to be purchased first and foremost. Once they do this and are happy to go ahead with purchase (subject to vehicle inspection) They will contact us for our next available booking. We can either travel and inspect a vehicle onsite or at our workshop in Warana. The buyer does not need to be there for the inspection. Once the inspection is carried out, the buyer will be contacted by our technician, a PDF copy of the inspection emailed through with the PPSR report. Images will also be sent to the buyer. The technician will then run though the report and findings and an assessment can be made by the prospective buyer if they wish to purchase.

3. Who can carry out a pre purchase inspection? An experienced, qualified light vehicle mechanic is the requirement by ViewMyCar Mobile Mechanics Sunshine Coast for the inspections of light vehicles including small car, SUV and large vehicles (4x4)

4. What are the signs I need a car service? When the oil level indication “low” light, vehicle maintenance due light or any other light appears to the driver it will require attention at earliest convenience. Please refer to your vehicle logbook for light meanings and requirements. Generally services are either 6 monthly 10,000km or 12 months 15,000kms, which ever comes first. When the vehicle has high kms, this may need to be more frequent than the logbook service requirement. In addition any abnormal driving noises or feelings while driving or at idle require attention at the earliest convenience.

5. Can mobile mechanics do repairs? Yes, our mobile mechanical service van that services suburbs of the Sunshine Coast including Bokarina, Buddina, Wurtulla, Parrearra, Currimundi and others, are fully equipped to carry out diagnosis, service and repair onsite in the convenience of your home or workplace. Although, It is always best practice to bring a vehicle to a workshop where possible, due to efficiency, reduced cost, convenience of parts suppliers next door, the generally results in a smaller cost and faster turn around for the customer. We are also able to do further works such as Rotation and Ballace of wheels and larger jobs when the vehicle is at the workshop.

6. What is included in a trailer service? Trailer servicing includes, Complete chassis inspection, lights and electrics inspected and tested, brakes adjusted (where applicable), repack wheel bearings with new grease and fit new seals, dust caps, split pins etc. Check and lubricate suspension. Tyre inspection and pressures. Tension of wheel nuts. Adjust and lubricate the hitch and jockey wheel where required.
